  1. McDonalds. The coffee isn’t necessarily the best (but I think it’s pretty a good), but there areas real locations that are open 24/7, either have charging stations or electrical outlets available for customer use, and as long as you buy something every 20 minutes or so (some locations have a no loitering policy, but sent really struck about it late night) you can stay there all day.

  2. There are coffee houses, Starbucks, hotel lobbies that serve coffee and drinks, and even diners. I can’t make specific recommendations, since I don’t know where you are located, and what kind of amenities you need, but you could do a google search for places near you, and before heading out at 2 AM, call to confirm the hours.

  3. Act like a guest and use a hotel lobby, or usually the conference area is on the mezzanine or 2nd floor and often has nicer table and chair configurations, possibly a registration desk set up from yesterday or for tomorrow. I have also used the public space in convention centers. Mostly I have needed to work and wait for someone else to attend conventions at Hotels and Conventions and thus was already in these spaces, Starbucks would have been further away and usually I brought my own coffee though there would usually be a way to purchase coffee at these locations, the late night bar of most hotels may even give away the coffee as a “service”.

  4. There’s always Starbucks, but if you’re downtown I like Think Coffee and Kaffe. You’ll have to check their hours at Kaffe.
LExpress and French Roast are two of my fave 24 hour restaurants.
I’m a downtown and west side gal though and I’m sure there are plenty of others places uptown and on the east side.
Apple Store is 24 hours and I’ve found myself there many times.
Hope this helps! Thanks for the question

  5. Yes. There are a number of 24 hour diners in most neighborhoods with free Wi-Fi where they’ll be happy to serve you coffee while you work all night. I had to do this recently one night at a friendly diner in Brooklyn when I locked myself out of my apartment!
It’s hard to make any one recommendation in this huge city, but I’d suggest picking a/y our neighborhood and then searching Yelp or Foursquare for 24-hour diner in it. Hope that helps!
