  1. The sous vide egg bites egg whites and red peppers are good even if they are not eye appealing. Definately healthier then the one with bacon .

  2. Nelson, Thanks for the A2A!
I don’t make recommendations for or against any specific brands, but I do try to help consumers be more informed. So, regarding your question…
    “Are Starbucks egg bites healthy?”
Let’s see what’s in them… According to the Starbucks (2020) website,
“ Egg White and Roasted Red Pepper
Cage-free egg whites with Monterey Jack and creamy cottage cheese, accentuated by spinach and fire-roasted red pepper. Two Egg White and Roasted Red Pepper bites have 170 calories per serving and 13 grams of protein.”
In general, barring any ingredients not listed, this seems to be a healthier option.
Here are some caveats to consider…
“Cage free” eggs does not mean pasture raised, it simply means the chickens were not kept in individual cages, thus having possible access to outdoors (Read this article by ABC News for more info on “cage free” eggs). It also does not state “organic”, so they are most likely given antibiotics, and not fed they’re natural diet, which, according to Mother Earth News (2010) is “…green plants, wild seeds… earthworms and insects..”
Monterey Jack and cottage cheese, also does not state “organic”, therefore, the dairy cows are most likely not pasture raised to enjoy their natural diet of grass, and are possibly given antibiotics, added hormones, and a diet containing GMO corn, and is also higher in pro-inflammatory fats.
Spinach and Red Pepper do not say “organic” either, so they have most likely been sprayed with pesticides and/or herbicides.
I have no doubt that they taste delicious, and now you can make more informed decisions when considering food choices, whether at the grocery store or in restaurants.

  3. Sous Vide Egg Bites : Egg White & Red Peppers
These sous vide egg bites are actually pretty good, even though they look a little funky. This variety is healthier than the one with bacon, because it’s still high in protein but lower in calories and fat.
