  1. Mugs are an OK gift but you might want to find out if they have too many already. Mugs are a pretty easy gift which means they have probably had them given at previous events/celebrations and they usually build up

  2. Are mugs a good gift?
    Absolutely!
Mugs make a great gift and there is a great selection of novelty mugs online or World Market, Pier One Imports…and a great idea for those who are difficult to shop for.
Personally, I am gifting two relatives with mugs this year, so I hope you find just the right mug for that special someone.

  3. Yup, they are simple and can be used for everyday use. You can add other things such as hand towel and a set of spoon and fork to accompany the gift. Put a message that you want to convey and you will be finished
    Hope this helps

  4. Of course it is … does the person need another one?
It certainly helps when one knows what the person needs .. just because nothing comes in mind, a mug/s should do.

  5. I happen to like mugs, but if someone was giving me one I would like it to be meaningful.
I got a mug with a knitted cozy on it with some very nice tea and honey sticks. I liked it.
I got a mug from a secret santa at work that had some candy in it that because of a medical dietary issue I could not eat. The giver knew I had an issue and didn’t bother to read the label. I didn’t like it.
So, mugs done right, good gift. Mugs done without thought, not so good.

  6. What makes a mug a good gift is not the object itself (the mug), but the message the mug delivers. It can be something funny, a quote, something personal, etc.
A mug can be just as good as any other gift as long as it is sending the right message to the recipient.

  7. Not for me. I am working at decluttering, so the only mugs I have in the house are a matching set of 8, and others that I use to hold pencils by our computers and by my bed. That allows for family and a couple guests. I got rid of all the “Mom”, “best friend”, and joke mugs and am delighted to have a whole lot of spare space in my kitchen cabinets.
I think mugs are just too common for me to label them as a good gift.

  8. Mugs are a good gift, but please understand that is one of those gifts that takes no thought, usually. Oh, a MOM mug, Best Friend mug, Stylist mug, Nurse Mug. usually have not much meaning except to say This is the best I could do.
Now, mugs can be made special, for instance, if you are pregnant and want to give your parents a reveal, Buy them grandparents mugs and include a very cute note about when and if you know the sex of the baby.
The same can be done if you are asking someone to be your maid of honor or bridesmaid
If you can make it very special, the mug will become a cherished keepsake if you make it very special

  9. I collect coffee mugs, so i think they are . My partner disagrees. Lol mostly because my cupboard is runneth over with cups.
I like a unique or pretty new cup. I drink a lot of coffee and the cup makes me smile as I remember how i found it or who gifted it to me.

  10. Of course they are. If it’s for someone that drinks tea, buy them a box of teabags that they might like. If it is a coffee lover, buy a bag or some k-cups of their favorite coffee. You do have to know what type of coffee maker they have. On the other hand you could fill the mug up with chocolate kisses or something like that.

  11. Mugs with a specially inscribed legend appropriate for the occasion are commonly gifted when a fairly large number of people are assembled for a seminar, workshop, reception and other events. It serves as reminder of your being a part of the event. For marriage anniversary or birthday, however, it’s too trite and doesn’t look like one that everyone would appreciate.

  12. They might be. Is your picture on it? Is it a mustache cup? Does she have a mustache? Will it keep coffee hot? When they pick it up to drink does it say “Feck You!” on the bottom?

  13. I think so, especially if they are geared for the recipient interest, like super hero, fave animal, personalized, humor mug, wine drinker, music lover etc. and never give an empty mug, if able put movie tickets or book coupon, or mag subscript.

  14. I remember when I was just getting out on my own and my mother bought me a set of four really nice large mugs and they were nice I still have them today but I think that if you know the person doesn’t have nice ones go ahead and pick out some nice mugs.

  15. It depends on the person you’re buying that gift for.
Me and my friends use this App called GiftList it allows you to create your own wishlist for your Birthday or Christmas so my friends and family members exactly know what to get me and vice versa.
You can find it on the Google Play & Apple App Store.

  16. Yes they are- they’re not as fragile as a tea cup and you can serve beverages, soups and even one person serving microwaved desserts in them.
